TITLE:Until when you die (2006)
PLAY>> Duration:
3' TRAILER (29' FULL VERSION) Until when you die is about a woman
who left Vietnam in 1979 with her family in
a fishing boat. We travelled back to her home
and discovered that the village where she had
grown up had been told that the boat had sunk
and everyone had drowned. It was as if a ghost
had returned...

COMMENT:
This film was directed by polkadots
founder Mark Aitken in close co-operation with
the Vietnamese community of south London. Support
came from community funding and the lottery.

spaces inbetween - underground rivers, fox holes,
killer crows and parakeets dreaming of warmer
climes.

COMMENT:
We made this film over a half
term where each participant took on the role
of a park animal. Each animal then had to interact
in some way. Made with the help of the Friends
of Brockwell Park and local squirrels.
TITLE:Where is Morton Valence? (2005)

7'38" Where is Morton Valence? is about
a notoriously difficult-to-get-hold-of London
band. An intrepid crew take to the streets and
encounter muggers, terrorists and tourists along
the way...

COMMENT:
When faced with the limitation
of making a film about a band who weren't available,
we invented characters and situations that made
a virtue out of the problem. The film makers
became the stars of their own film.
TITLE:Resonance FM (2005)

6'42" Resonance FM is about a community arts
radio station in London. Rather than film dj's
and studios, we made an investigation into the
very nature of sound...

COMMENT:
The film makers each took on
a role to investigate the nature of sound. An
Artist, a Philosopher and a Scientist all devise
their various points of view through experimentation.
This film was made in a half-term in north London.
TITLE:
Talking about us
(2003)

Four London youth clubs took on the idea of
citizenship and produced moving and personal
takes on what it means to be a teenager today.

COMMENT:
The London Film Festival commissioned
this film as part of it's citizen awareness
programme. We weren't exactly sure what citizenship
meant so the groups took the lead. One group
from Ealing went back to the children's home
where they'd grown up and reconstructed their
memories.
